EARLY FOR ANNE IMHOF

THE LAST 4 MONTHS HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY AT THE EARLY STUDIO. IN ADDITION TO OUR REGULAR PRODUCTION WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A COLLABORATION WITH OUR FRIEND AND STUDIO NEIGHBOUR, ARTIST ANNE IMHOF.
WE PRODUCED THE WHITE LEATHER PUNCHING BAGS AND MATS WHICH ARE A PART OF HER AMAZING OPERA ANGST. IT'S FIRST PART TOOK PLACE AT ART BASEL THIS YEAR. THE SECOND PART PREMIERS AT SEPTEMBER 14TH AT HAMBURGER BAHNHOF AND RUNS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 25TH. YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY GO AND SEE IT IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!
WE ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH ANNE AND HER TEAM AND ENJOYED THIS TRIP INTO THE ART WORLD VERY MUCH.

Thinking back I often ask myself how I never doubted that I can work in those dimensions  (one punching bag was 4 meters long) and it is nice to remind myself of this when I struggle with creating new bag. Having an art background myself ( I studied art at HFG Offenbach) it was really nice to work for an artist like Anne and to be part of this exciting project.

I worked together with my dear friend Christina Abartzi, who's father used to rent out the exact same floor in the 1980ies with his fur atelier. She spent a lot of time in those rooms during her childhood and working there with me was very special and nostalgic for her.

At that time I was six month pregnant with our daughter Alva and was invited to Vougue Salon in Berlin and offered a free both at Premium all at the same time. Luckly the pregnancy was easy for me and I somehow managed to bring it all together.
